Grant Announcement: Incredible Years Dinosaur Classroom
Deadline extended to Wednesday, March 16th at 4pm!
Private and Parochial School Teachers are now eligible to Apply!
Connect to Classrooms is seeking letters of interest from Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade teachers in Fayette County for a proposed implementation of the Incredible Years Dinosaur Classroom Program. The Dinosaur Classroom program is designed to be used as a universal social skills, problem solving, and social-emotional development curriculum for all students in the classroom. Pennsylvania teachers who participated in the program last year reported a 41% decrease in antisocial behavior, 25% improvement in concentration/attention, and a 26% increase in emotional competence for their students.
Connect to Classrooms is seeking a grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to implement the program. If funded, participating teachers will receive all program materials, including the curriculum and puppets, three days of program training in the summer of 2016, stipends for completing program requirements, and two years of on-site program support from a Connect to Classrooms Program Coordinator. 15 teachers will be selected for the first, two-year cohort.
Interested teachers should submit the cover sheet below and a letter of interest on school letterhead signed by the teacher and school principal no later than Wednesday, March 16th at 4pm. We have provided a sample letter that you can cut and paste on your letterhead. If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
